A Fool

In the time of  birds and spring
The wind blows past us whispering

Love that was once lost is alluring and yet profound
A heartbeat that started fading has burst  into waves of sound

Faster than a heavy drum
Harder than a summers rain
Longer than a winters eve
More traveled than a blood filled vein

Catastrophe that was once among us
Has now exploded into flame
It burns brighter than the sun above us
Delving deeper than the longest storm drain.
